The Bar 1896 Experience

The Bar 1896 Experience

At the center of Castle Hot Springs relaxed vibe is Bar 1896 – named for the first year of the resort’s operation. The main floor of the historic Lodge is dedicated for guests to enjoy craft cocktails, casual food and menu choices designed for sharing.

Leaving the audience instantly captured. Performing a wide range of cover songs, each artist makes them authentically their own.

It is here that the resort’s talented mixologists collaborate with the on-site farmer to craft unique libations for guests. Challenge the bartenders to blend your favorite flavors or let them surprise you, with fresh ingredients directly from The Farm.

The Atmosphere

A fire pit outside Bar 1896

Bar 1896’s patio boasts its own fire pit with comfy Adirondack chairs. The area overlooks the resort pool and out onto the stunning vistas of the Sonoran Desert, inviting guests to sit, stroll, relax and talk while enjoying the night sky and vibrant music.

The Menu

Delicious salad at Bar 1896

The Bar 1896 menu is classic, yet elevated. For example, bar menus typically have chicken wings. But here, the chefs chose duck wings with gochujang sauce to bring an elevated twist to a classic. Burgers, salads and pasta are favorites for the casual Bar 1896 diner – or make a meal from a variety of flavorful appetizers. After a day of hiking, climbing or riding, your appetite will be satisfied.

Aside from the approachable fare offered at Bar 1896, the dining options at Castle Hot Springs include Harvest Restaurant. which has a more upscale feel and features a delicious five-course tasting menu, which changes nightly. This dining experience is further enhanced with a custom wine pairing selected by the lead Sommelier and Wine & Service director, Sarah Foote. The remote location of the resort means guests will be dining ‘in’. So, keeping fresh and unique options is the ever-present goal for the chef team.
